1 year ago today CrossFit Storrs opened its doors. I would really like to thank everyone who has helped me build my dream along the way. To those who believed in me and pushed me to be better. I would also like to thank all my members. I obviously couldn’t and wouldn’t be here without you!
Tell me about your best accomplishment or your best memory at CFS so far!

Congrats Brooke! Wish I was up there to do this WOD!
And I would like to thank YOU, Brooke! If anyone in the past ever told me that I would be doing these things, I would have laughed in their faces… I love that every day I accomplish something I never thought possible- and your encouragement and support keeps me motivated to keep working hard and meeting new goals. My favorite that come to mind right now are 220lb DL and losing 18.5in during the paleo challenge
Happy anniversary and thank you for a great year!!
I remember this woman coming in to a CrossFit gym I know of and said to myself, ” there’s someting up with her, she’s to good at this ” well here she is a year later. Congratulation’s Brooke !!!!

Was just sharing this with Brandon – I remember my first workout here during Brooke’s open house. It was the “easy” work out: 8 min AMRAP of 5 burpees, 10 kb swings (15 lb), 15 air squats. I think i did just over 4 rounds. Thought I was gonna die. Out of shape? Yup. So I joined!
I’ve lost 12 lbs and down 3 pant sizes since then, not to mention much stronger!
So for everyone just starting – hang in there and KEEP COMING! It’s so worth it! Thank you Brooke for EVERYTHING! Hopefully many more years ahead

I remember how excited I was when I first saw the Crossfit Storrs sign go up – and a few of my friends txted/called me to tell me they saw it that day. I had been talking about crossfit how I wanted to join a real crossfit gym after getting a small taste of it in college.
I knew I’d like it, but I had no idea how strongly I’d be hooked and how much crossfit would affect my life in other ways. I’m so grateful for the paleo challenge, it helped me learn so many things about my body and my health, and I haven’t wavered (too much) since.
I’d say my biggest accomplishment is sticking with it and coming to the gym 3 to 6 days per week, for almost a year now. I have lifted things I never dreamed of lifting (200lb back squat, 265 deadlift, 140 power clean), done more burpees than I thought humanely possible, mastered double unders, and so much more.
I stand up straighter because my back is stronger, I can intimidate my students by showing off my shoulders when I teach, and Jonny thinks my abs are pretty hot!
I can’t thank you enough, Brooke, as well as Tunde and Brandon and everyone else at the gym, for your guidance and support. I never could have gotten here by myself.
I would say best CF memories are when CFS first opened, getting my first muscle up (heck yeah) and watching the awesome progress everyone has made this past year! Here’s to the next great year!
